IEC
has the unique and sophisticated computer controlled Isojet kilns &
Photo copying lathes, six station automatic lathes in addition to the
other manufacturing facilities. This ensures proper firing and most accurate
dimensions of insulators.
IEC
manufactures high quality Insulators up to 525 kVA that are accepted by
buyers and industries worldwide. We are an ISO-9001-2000 certified company
and have also been approved by LRQA, an U.K. based accrediting company.
The
management of IEC, in its uncompromising quest for quality, had installed
state of the art manufacturing equipment imported from Germany's leading
equipment manufacturers.
Vaccum
Pugmills for Extrusion of Blanks, Automatic Disc Jiggering Machine and
Photocopying machines for manufacturing hollow and solid core insulators
are imported from M/s Netzsch and M/s Heinrich Zeidler, Germany.
The
state of the art humidity dryer for drying sensitive, high strength apparatus
porcelains is from M/s Novokeram Max Wagner GmbH, Germany. The drying
cycle and the humidity inside the dryer can be perfectly programmed in
the dryer.
The
most important equipment, the nerve centre of the insulator manufacturing
unit, the kilns is from M/s Bickley GmbH, Germany. These flat roofed kilns
have multiple zone controls for equalization of temperature within the
kiln under controlled atmosphere, which is very essential to get quality
output.
Testing
Facilities
Our
laboratory is equipped with sophisticated equipment and instruments like:
1. Fluctural strength testing machine for testing modulus of rupture.
2. Viscometer for controlling glaze flow and properties.
3. Other instruments and equipment for various ceramic and chemical testing,
and
4. Well equipped pilot plant for various body and glaze development.
The
IEC factory is equipped with special testing facilities such as
1. High frequency transformer.
2. Power frequency testing transformer.
3. Hydraulic proof testing for Disc Insulator Shell.
4. Disc string testing facility.
5. Impulse generator.
6. Universal Testing Machine.
7. Thermal Mechanical Testing Unit
8. Multi-directional bend test unit
9. Hydraulic pressure testing for Hollow Insulators.
10. and Vibration Testing.
11. Ultrasonic - Testing on Solidcore & Hollow Insulator.
These are in addition to the regular testing facilities.
Research
& Development
The
unit also has a modern laboratory for continuously monitoring the quality
at every stage of manufacturing as well as for R&D work. IEC has a
separate team of Research & Development staff with latest testing
equipment--both in the High Voltage Testing Lab and in Ceramic Lab. Continuous
efforts have enabled the unit to establish high alumina based ceramic
mix and optimum-firing timings for microprocessor based automatic kilns.
